In my analytical research paper I will be analyzing Disney’s animated film, Cinderella. The way in which women are portrayed in the film, Cinderella, is problematic because it reinforces gender roles and suggests that women are only as valuable as their looks and marital status. In this essay I will examine how the harmful portrayal of women in popular American culture perpetuates the marginalization of women in our society. Cinderella is a film that American children watch from a very young age and the ideas it presents about women start to curate the way this young audience thinks about themselves or the opposite sex early in life. My desire to further research this topic stems from my curiosity on how putting these ideas into the brains of young people reflect the the disadvantages that adult women face in the workforce, the domestic expectations placed upon them, and how they are discussed by the media. I plan to explore this in my research by first analyzing what problematic ideas about women are present in Cinderella, and how these ideas harm women in their adult lives. I will also supply research to support how learning harmful ideas and standards at a young age affect people in their adult lives. I think this is incredibly important because women face a lot of unnecessary pressure and challenges today that wouldn’t be so if we learned from our history. I believe that the largest contribution to the perpetuation of harmful ideals is the media that we begin to consume as children.

The Text I will be writing about in essay #3 will be A film called  “A Silent Voice (Koe no katachi).” Thesis statement:  Emotional violence and verbal assaults towards an individual lead  to a person’s self-distraction and suicidal thoughts. Bullying aspects are much more dangerous than it may seem from the first time.

This film displays struggles one can have in a real world basis. A silent voice tells a story where the main protagonist is bullying a girl for being deaf. Nishymiya is deaf and is unable to communicate verbally, which impacts her ability to make new friends at the school. A silent voice is not only about a boy who bullies a deaf girl and a deaf girl, rather the realities that a a deaf person or a person in general can have such as depression, suicide, self isolation, bullying and other social problems teens may encounter i their adolescent life. In this essay I hope to address these problems teens go through whether being deaf or not. This movie touched me deeply because I am able to relate to it due to my past of being bullied and other aspects of bullying that i may have not experienced and would love to know so i can help a younger family member if they ever have to deal with a different type of bullying they may be going through. The meaning behind  the thesis i came up with comes from the movie and from my own personal experience.Where becoming self-distracted and suicide can be the result of being bullied. I plan to watch the movie again, break down and analyze the movie. Watching the movie will not only refresh my memory but it will allow me to see the main reasons what Emotional violence and verbal assaults towards an individual lead to

The text I have chosen to write my analytical research paper on is actually a series called “When They See Us”. This series is about five young black teens, also known as “The Central Park Five”, who are wrongly accused of beating and sexually assaulting a white woman in Central Park. Throughout the series, it can be seen how these five boys get manipulated to give false confessions by the police. They end up admitting to a crime that they did not commit. My thesis for this analytical research paper will be “police brutality has negative effects on the lives of people of color and police tend to abuse their power when it comes to black people”. In my essay, I hope to show the struggles that people of color have faced in America because of the police and the way that they are viewed by society. This series inspired my desire for further research because it shows the unfairness and the injustices that people of color face on a normal basis because of their skin color. In addition, situations like the one in the series still tend to happen to this day. I came up with my thesis because police brutality, manipulation, and abuse of power are common themes that pop up in the series. It is the reason why the boys go to prison and get accused of the crime. I hope to explore the statement in my research by looking for other events, during present times or throughout history, where people of color have gone through the same experiences as the Central Park Five”.

My Chosen text will be The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennet. Thesis Statement: In a world that favors white people, and leaves black people feeling oppressed it is clear to see why many mixed-raced people struggle with their racial identity.

In my essay, I hope to show the struggle many mixed-race people face (specifically half black/half white) in not only America but the world. How many of them struggle to accept themselves. Not knowing whether people will accept them for being two different races. Some people will even claim they are not of either race. What I hope to accomplish in my essay is to be able to show people that mixed-race people are two races, that they can identify as whatever race they choose and can identify as both races. I want to show that they understand each prospective race issues. I desired more research because during the Black Lives Matter movement many people claimed that people who were both black and white didn’t understand the struggle “full” black people faced and are still facing. I came up with this thesis because I wanted to dive deeper into the oppression and stereotypes many mixed-raced people are facing. I came up with the thesis because in my essay I want to show that mixed-raced people have their own battles that many of us do not understand. It’s important because I feel like people don’t fully accept them and they struggle to accept themselves. I plan to explore by researching in areas like Hollywood and their part in accepting half black/half white but not fully accepting just one raced black people. Also, the prejudices that mixed-race people face in their lives and their own prejudices toward themselves. I also want to dig into the history behind the stereotypes of mixed-race people and how it all started.

The text I will be focusing on for my essay would be the album “Twenty88” by Jhene Aiko and Big Sean. With my analytical research paper, I will be discussing the partial reality of couples forced into the spotlight. Jhene Aiko and Big Sean create a story-like album that highlights the ups and downs of relationships forced into the public eye. There is the continuous push and pull between the characters where they loop in acts of being petty, angry, and passionate. I was inspired while noticing more celebrity-based couples with more information out in the open are less likely to last as long as those who stay low key. It also becomes clear as to the fact they are only in a relationship for the sole purpose of entertainment as they are being controlled by a robot-like being. At the same time, you have relationships set up for marketing purposes. As time progresses, we see less evidence for true love. It becomes more likely to notice relationships made solely for the reason of publication. Jhene and Big Sean play the role of a Hollywood couple who remains under the constant public eye and struggle to communicate with one another. They resemble the now highly favored “toxic relationship” where they are unhealthy for one another but choose to stay. With this album being 4 years old, today’s relationships now relate to one of each 8 songs on the duo album. I’ll be doing more research. As to how toxic relationships are now over-hyped under the wrong pretense as well as how it related to the storyline of this album “Twenty88.”

The Text I have chosen for my focus on the analytical research paper is “The Gettysburg Address” by Abraham Lincoln. The speech given by president Lincoln focuses on slavery and how the act of slavery should be abolished in order to keep the American nation thriving in the future. Thesis statement: The fallen soldiers of the American revolution shall not be forgotten and the only way forward as a nation is to move forward and the only way to respect their constitution is to abolish the act of slavery.

My main concern for my essay regarding the major points I would like to address would be the reason president Lincoln had given the speech and the impact it had given amongst the American people. The spark for further research regarding would be the interest regarding how the speech affected the lives of the individuals fighting during the civil war and president Lincoln’s goal of achieving unity within the southern states and the union. I came up with the thesis by analyzing the meaning behind president Lincolns words and his political goal of unity within the country. The thesis statement pushed the solution of American equality by reflecting on the founding fathers morals. I plan to explore the statement in my research by analyzing the reasoning behind the seceding of the southern states from the union and why it was such an important aspect of American history. I would look into the accounts of slavery and how the abolishment of slavery bettered the system we live in today.

The text that I will write is about a movie titled “Like stars on earth”. Thesis statement: Children who tend to have problems or challenges in their lives need to be understood and receive the full support from people especially their parents.

The reason why I chose this movie is because this one of the emotional and morale teaching movie ever. It is about a little boy named Ishaan who had a disease called dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to read or interpret words, letters and other symbols thus always failed his text and quizzes. He was very playful and that always got him into trouble in school with his teachers. Colors and art was one thing that Ishaan loved and was very good at. His brother Yohan on the other hand was a brilliant kid who passed all his tests and quizzes. This angered their dad even more because he could not understand why Ishaan kept failing his exams while his brother always passed his. Ishaan’s mum and dad did all they could do in terms of speaking to the headmaster to try and have extra classes for Ishaan to try and improve his grades. Unfortunately Ishaan’s dad lost patience with him and decided to send him to a boarding house. His dad got so furious with him and termed him as “a useless kid”. This left Ishaan totally devastated and barely spoke a word in his new boarding school. He was always in tears as he felt abandoned by his parents.

Ishaan had a new teacher in a few weeks time named Prof Ram. He was an Arts teacher filled with so much charisma. He was someone who always helped kids with disabilities and just loved to help kids. He soon noticed Ishaan’s sadness in class and decided to find out more about Ishaan. He soon found out Ishaan was a very great artist and painter which even excited him even more because he saw his self exactly in Ishaan. He too had the same disease and was also a great painter. He decided to personally help and teach Ishaan to read and write and help him discover his hidden potential which was painting. A painting competition was later organized in which Ishaan won and was finally recognized by everyone. Fortunately Ishaan passed his final exams and his parents was then invited to the school. His dad was left in so much shame with himself and tears after he found out his son Ishaan’s artwork ended up as the back cover of the school’s magazine and also passed his exams.

I want parents to always show full support in their kids in their difficult times because kids who don’t get enough attention, love and support end up become devastated and timid all the time which is not good for a child at such a young age. The last thing a child needs is to feel left out and unloved by his parents and people. Some people and kids have so many problems and difficulties, such people should be understood and helped not shun instead.

The texts I have chosen to focus my analytical research paper on is My Cat Yugoslavia and Crossing, both written by Pajtim Statovci. The books focus on the social issue of gender identity and sexuality.

Thesis Statement: Children from traditional households face pressure from parents when they do not fit into traditional gender roles.

While writing my analytical research paper, I look forward to addressing the major issue children have been facing concerning gender identity and sexuality. It is common that for many years, children fear and do not have the potential to reveal their identity and sexuality to their family because it is forbidden in most cultures and traditional households. Both books, My Cat Yugoslavia and Crossing highlights many key ideas about a young gay male that was afraid to reveal who he really is and what he feels due to his conservative culture. Out of all social issues that are going on in this world, one of the major reasons as to why I chose to do further research on this topic is because many individuals that come from different cultures still face discrimination and there are still many families that do not understand and do not believe that their children can be LGBTQIA. I came up with my thesis by putting together the major points and themes in both books. While both books share the same theme; traditional cultures will suppress countless children who struggle with revealing their true identity. These children may experience depression and misery. In this analytical research paper, I plan on making my statement clear by breaking down the main reasons and providing backup details to make my thesis statement valid. I also plan on making an entrancing argument by providing examples and persuasive reasoning.

The text I have chosen to use in my Analytical Research Paper is, “The Hate U Give” by, Angie Thomas. Thesis Statement: The issues of police brutality and injustice people of color are faced with.

While writing my Analytical Research Paper, I hope to address the issues people of color, mainly African Americans face. “The Hate U Give” highlights many key ideas on how people of color are faced with police brutality and injustice. This book showcases how people of color are protesting for justice for Khalil’s death. The Black Lives Matter Protest inspired me to do further research on the problems people of color face and why it’s so important they protest. “The Hate U Give” is similar to The Black Lives Matter protest, hence why I chose that text or book. The thesis statement highlights the key ideas the book addresses or is based on. Having a thesis statement is important because it gives the reader an idea of what the research paper is going to be based on. Your thesis statement can also help organize your research paper or any paper. For example, it can plan out your body paragraphs and what each body paragraph is based on. In my research paper, I plan on exploring my statement by analyzing the ideas and providing enough textual and outside information to help back up my thoughts or statement. This research paper is going to challenge me to go more in-depth on how people of color experience police brutality and injustice in America.

The text that I chose is the MCU movie “Avengers Infinity War”. Thesis Statement: Children at a young age experience abuse from their parents, but are able to act normal society despite their mental health and possible trauma in the future.

The reason being that I pick this movie was because Gamora had experience abuse from her father Thanos where he would control Gamora’s life and train her into something that she didn’t want to become. The flashback shows Thanos killing half of the people in Gamora’s home planet and then abducting her to train her into an assassin. However, this training would be useful to her when the day comes when she would kill Thanos. Then Gamora had an illusion where she killed Thanos which she soon to realize that it was not reality. As soon as she realizes it, she started to break down letting her emotions get the best of her indicating how much suffering she had by Thanos abusing her and their relationship was not of parent and child. This would result in Thanos sacrificing Gamora for the soul stone for his gains. Then Thanos realize how much love he had for Gamora that he didn’t realize how much abuse he did towards her. So the point I want to accomplish is for parents to realize that they are actually abusing their child in some kind of form. The main points that I want to address is that how their abuse may have affect their mental health, trauma, comparing help and abuse and etc. The thing that desire me to further my research is probably the way how my parents treat me to how they think they are helping me by doing this one thing but in some kind of way it’s really not helping me. So I want to see what’s the things that parents think that may show a form of abuse. The way that I came up with my statement is that some children face some kind of abuse at a young age and some won’t talk about their problems because it may bring complications at home. In addition, people who don’t know the child well will see that they are putting up a face to show that they aren’t suffering unlike those who are close to that person to know what they really feel.
