One of my favorite songs of this era is ‘Hella Black’ by Tobe Nwigwe featuring The New Respects. I will use the content of his lyrics along with a sample of the short speech he made in his live performance of the song during his Ivory tour in Atlanta. This song preaches of black representation in America, that of which will be the main focus of my analytical research paper.

In respect of the thesis, I will seek to argue how being black has been an unnecessary offense to the larger community. To show that black people are more than just who they are when they are born. Fully embracing the black self unashamed and unapologetically, regardless of how they are perceived to the rest of mankind. This essay will also aim to emphasize the relevance of black representation in the present and for future generations to come.

I take this stance because as a human being first, no race ought to be fighting this long and this hard to be accepted or to be struggling to find one’s place in their societal home. Black representation is quite vital because it portrays the community in all its diversity and dynamic roles in a world that has demonized and dehumanized it. In saying so, what I hope to accomplish in this research paper is to highlight the brilliance of what it truly means to be black and the importance of black presence in the American society. Hence, the main inspiration behind this paper is due to the fact that on a personal level, I have never had to encounter the issues associated with racism this much until I migrated to this country. Just being black has never been this difficult for me before because I grew up on an island where 95% of us are black. So my question to America is, why? Why does the color of my skin offend you? I fail to fathom how the color of my skin can mean that I am not worthy of exercising basic human rights, achieving desired goals, and being afforded other rites of passage.

I generated the thesis statement in hoping to use my research to unearth the reasoning behind the offense the black presence evokes as well as to show that being black is no threat or hindrance to another race because we are all here to serve our purpose in this grand design called life. Thus, by deciphering the lyrics of Tobe Nwigwe’s song ‘Hella Black’ and going in search of articles in regards to black representation, I will use these tools to embark on information that will help me to fully develop this research.

The text that I choose to talk about is the movie “Grave of the Fireflies.” Thesis Statement: A teenager is faced with the difficult task of having to take care of his sister after his mother dies and he is taken from his family and home by a bomb (based on ww2).

What I hope to address in this essay is the people affected by the Second World War, just like the protagonists of the film, many families were affected by this fact, making the story of the film not very far from the reality that happened after the Second World War. There were not only losses in Japan where the film is set but in countries like Belgium, Germany, and Yugoslavia. The desire for future research may have been inspired by people who lost family members during the war. The thesis came to me after thinking about a topic to talk about, at first I had no idea what I could talk about, but later my friends remembered this movie and I had the idea to talk about this topic, this is important because People know that many lives were lost in the Second World War but they do not know how this affected people, they only know the numbers as simple numbers and not as families that were separated or lost. I intend to search for information on the people affected by the Second World War in reliable articles on the internet and web pages that have the truth.

The text I will most likely be writing about in my analytical research paper is the show “All American.” Thesis Statement: Teenagers deal with many challenges, including addiction, racial profiling, and issues in thier families, that influence who they are and how they live thier life.

“All American” is about how two different worlds collided for a talented high school football player, named Spencer James. This show is actually inspired by the real life story of the NFL linebacker Spencer Paysinger. “All American” is one my favorite shows and that is why I’m inspired to do further research on the different topics it focuses on. I enjoyed watching every episode of “All American” on Netflix. This show is one of those shows that you can easily binge watch because it’s very intriguing. I came up with the thesis statement by being aware that everyone deals with different kinds of problems that can affect who they are as a person. I plan to explore the statement in my research by rewatching every episode of “All American” so I can fully remember all the important moments that occurred. I hope to address the many different issues that teenagers may be facing. “All American” has touched on many real life issues that many people can relate to. “All American” has touched on issues involving with family, addiction, racial profiling, privilege, gangs, and many more. I feel that it is important to be aware of the different issues that can occur in someone’s life. Teenagers and even adults can give others the illusion that they have the perfect life. Teenagers and adults can act like they’re completely fine and happy, when in reality they’re dealing with some kind of problem.

I chose the Disney movie Brave because it focuses on social and cultural issues. Merida proves that women are strongly independent and powerful. She comes from a scottish family with three younger brothers, her mother the queen and her dad the king. Merida is a skilled archer who creates her own path in life. Throughout the movie she shows courage, confidence and intelligence. This movie is so inspirational to young female viewers since it shows that you can be yourself  while still being loved and respected for who you are. I have re-watched this movie many times because having a movie where a female isn’t downgraded or having to need a man to save the day is superior. The other Disney movies have the lead female depend on the love of a man and that’s  the problem with society, women don’t need a man to succeed. Yes we can have relationships while being individuals with goals of our own. Merida was so influential that she got her clan to change their tradition of arranging marriages for their children to letting their children choose when they are ready to get married. Women have to deal with various issues such as molding their bodies to comply with cultural standards, violence, shame, skin color and child marriage. Speaking on women’s social and cultural issues is important to me because I am a Latina woman who is starting a career so I know how difficult it can be. I need to stay informed and let others know what it’s like to be a woman in this world.  When it comes to jobs and education men get more privileges than women which isn’t fair. Sexism is another point shown in the movie. The main character learned archery while being feminine. Adults and children need to be educated. We have to teach kids that embracing who they are is perfect and powerful. No one can take who you are away from you.

The text I will writing about is Medical apartheid By Harriet T Washington thesis: Black women are treated so poorly espically with in the health care system.

In this essay I hope to open every ones eyes to the problem that no one seems to talk about or notice. The points I want to adress is how hospitals need to take better care of Black women their have been numerous events where a African American woman has went into the hospital and was told that she wasn’t a priority couple seconds later she died  the health care system has been failing African women through history their have been articles written about it  but their is no action and the problem is being ignored.  I was desired to do this research because I am a African American women and we have been mistreated for years  and it’s still happening Black women have done so much through out history their is so much historical women like Sojourner truth, Harriet Tubman and Maya Angelou and this society treats us as if we don’t even matter and now they are trying to kill us off. I Wrote this thesis to give my readers a idea of what I am going to be talking about my thesis is important because it  gives you insight  of the issue I will be adressing. I plan to explore the statement in my research by  sugar coding anything and my evidence and opinions will be clear and uncut because I am a Black Women and I know how it feels to be mistreated because of the color of our skin.

The text that my upcoming analytical research paper will be based on is the Gettysburg address. In this paper I plan on pointing out the importance of the address to the United States of America. The address took place after the civil war in which President Lincoln spoke at the Soldiers National Cemetery. The address brought a great impact on the future of the United States and the people living in America. The purpose of the address was to provide a plan on preserving the equality of not only those living in the North/Union but of all people throughout America. I wanted to research this text because of its historical significance. Without us winning the civil war and the Gettysburg address being written, we might be living in a very different society. Our country if not for these events could still be a land driven on racism and profiting off of the work of African Americans. This address serves great value to the society we are today and will be in the future. I plan on explaining the statement of how valuable the address is by citing multiple historical text proving Lincolns impact through out the speech.

In the future, I will be critically analyzing one of Eminem’s songs, Darkness, from his 2020 album, Music to be Murdered By. The song is controversial, as it tells the story of depression, suicide, gun violence, and possible alcohol abuse. There are numerous reasons why I chose this song. For starters, it is one of my favorite songs. The reason it is one of my favorite songs because it highlights a very serious issue that the United States has today. When that song came out, there were mass shootings happening from all over the country. The way this song is told, it puts us in the point of view of the shooter. Looking at the lens of a shooter, it is quite interesting to see, because usually artists would write songs as a victim. So far, I haven’t found the right thesis to use for my 3rd essay, but it should be along the lines of, the United States needs to urgently address gun violence. Sometimes, depression could lead to school shooters/local shooters, which then leads to suicide, or getting shot by the police. I plan to listen to the song numerous times, as well as look at the viewpoints of others to see how they react to the song. I want to see what conclusions they draw up, so that I can better understand the conclusion that I want to come up with. I’ll be looking for positive AND negative reviews about the song. Gun violence has long been overdue, it is time that the United States take action with this particular issue. Anything that I have said in this blog is subject to change.

The text that I will be writing about in my analytical research paper is a show called Naruto. Child neglect is something that is not shown much to people and is also very hard to prove because there are so many different forms of child neglect that a child can feel. This will lead to the child as an adult will have post-traumatic stress(PTSD), educational difficulties, low self-esteem, trouble forming and maintaining the relationship, and depression. We need to address the child neglect problem so that America and the rest of the world will have a reliable future.

In the show, a boy named Naruto suffers from child neglect since he has the nine tail fox, which had destroyed attacked the village and killed many people, sealed in him, and everyone treated as an outcast. Naruto was not the only person in the show who went through child neglect. There were also people like Kakashi and Gaara who also went through similar child neglect. This is something I felt like talking about in my essay because it is not a problem that many people will talk about, but in fact, a problem that we should see more since child neglect cases are rising every year as well as child abuse right next to it. Forms of neglect that are common factors are physical neglect, medical neglect, educational neglect, and emotional neglect that can be seen in today’s cases in America and also around the world. The leading cause for most children that get abuse is the fact that many of the parents are substance users, single parenting, or marital conflicts that break the house apart and leave the child in the middle. I believe if this problem can be brought to light then more people can speak out for children who are afraid to speak up for themselves.

The film I’ve decided to focus on throughout my analytical research paper is “Freedom Writers”. Essentially, the film portrays how unique students who attend the same high school share things in common despite the obvious. With the help of their teacher, the students found themselves as a person and created bonds with each other. Though I am a little unclear about what issue exactly I’d like to discuss yet, I know this will be a good option because there are several issues demonstrated in the film. For example, the corrupted education system can be a topic to indulge in or even the poverty and struggles of the students. However, despite either of the two ideas I choose I’d hope to accomplish proving the point that there are several ways to learn besides reading directly out of a textbook. Engaging with students and connecting to them can allow “unteachable” students to engage in class and become “teachable”. Essentially, the point out of that idea is to explore the issues with the education system and its negativity. While also, another option can be to dwell and analyze that though we all appear different from one another and come from different backgrounds, we may share similarities such as struggles and experiences. I’d also like to discuss how lots of times poverty plays a huge role in one’s development. This film inspired my want to further research because in just one film, there were so many ideas illustrated. I hope to explore these ideas in my paper by presenting stereotypes and also connecting it to other events or ideas which correlates.

I’m going to be using a youtube video called, ” I Just Sued The School System,” by Prince Ea. Thesis: After school being around for so long, the flaws of the school system have appeared to do more harm than good to students, especially today.

My goal for this essay is to address the flaws of the school system and how it affects students. I want to address how a teacher teaching the same thing the same way to multiple students can have a negative impact. I also want to address how important the job of a teacher is and how they’re not appreciated the way they should. I was inspired to do this topic because growing up, school came relatively easy for me. However, after I missed school for half a year after I fractured my leg and had to get surgery, I came back and everything was different. Trying to keep up in school became very difficult for me. No matter how much a teacher would try to explain to me stuff, it was still hard to understand. While some of my teachers tried to explain things to me to get me to understand, I had some teachers that kept going by the books and trying to show me the same way over and over again. I found this youtube video during my sophomore year and I instantly understood and resonated with the message of how all students are different, but the system is the same for every person. This thesis is important because I feel like I’m not the only one that’s gone through this and I feel like the school system does more harm than good. I plan on doing more research on how the school system has affected students both mentally and how it shaped their futures.
