In “The Good immigrant Student” by Bich Minh Nguyen we get a better understanding of what immigrant kids are dealing with in school especially in English because it’s not their native language. We get to understand the struggle they go through every day. Nguyen states “Kids today has the advantage of so much collective cultural wisdom, that they are so much more socially and politically aware than anyone was when I was in school.” Immigrants kids have the chance to do better and learn so many more things that people like Nguyen couldn’t have to learn when she was younger. However, the problem is that it’s hard to motivate the kids they either really start to focused and they want to better themself to a great degree. Or they decided to quit and fade away and accomplished nothing. Nguyen feels powerless because she doesn’t know how to help the kids that gave up and it scared her because she can see them give up like a flickering light that will fade. She states “that some kids will always want to disappear and disappear until they actually do.” She doesn’t want the same thing that happens to her happen to other kids she was bullied because she didn’t know as much as the other kids and because of that she really couldn’t defend herself, the kids also made fun of how she looked which cause her to question herself to the point that I affect her daily life. She wasn’t able to defense for the kids and support their future right away and she always regretted it but now that she had the power and the education she wants to be the voice of the immigrant’s students and wants to make sure that they never have to suffer again.

When someone goes prison must of the time they decided to fit in and meet people so that they stay safe they might also just try to work out so they give the impression that they are strong and that they shouldn’t be a mess with. Malcon x however didn’t see it like that instead of acting like must people he decided to start and read books and decided to improve his writing. For him learning to read and write became such an important thing from him and e had fun learning something new, he never gave up on his goal to further his education even if it was a little bit. When he stated that he never felt so truly free is because after getting all of this amazing information and knowledge you start to see the world a little different. He is capable of controlling his own destiny and is able to chape his ideal to the point where anyone that hears him will believe that he does not like everyone else he has an amazing education. He stated it himself when he said that most people won’t believe that he has continued after his 8th grade because no one will believe that he put so much determination to learn how to read and write so he will be able to make a change.

My Name is Carlos Suero, I go by He/him. My intended major is Computer Science

After reading the syllabus I can say that the thing that I’m most excited about is that this course will help me better my essay writing and will help me get a better understanding of the economic, political, and social issues. I’m nervous that I won’t be able to fully understand everything that I’m being taught and I’m unsure that I will be able to do great in this class because I’m not the best when it comes to writing essays.I think that the qualities that makes someone a good writers is someone that is able to write a story that people will actually be able to image, they will be able to paint a picture of the character and they are able to understand the story and the challenges that he or she had to go through throughout the story. The easiest part of writing for me is painting a picture for my readers so that they won’t be confused when they are reading my work, that is what I’m good at painting a picture for someone and making things more clear for the readers. The hardest part of writing for me and sometimes creating a story from a source that i never heard of and i need to work on my writing because sometimes i am writing and I noticed that my vocabulary is bleak and i know i can make it more interesting. The writing that I will be mainly writing that is connected to my major is probably going to be fiction because I’m going to try to make a good story for the game I will be creating so I will know how everything takes place from the beginning to the end. Being an effective writer is important for my career because I need people to fully understand what my creative ideas are so they will pick me for more important projects.
